Hey boys and girls :)
Last post about the city of Shanghai!
Obviously China has wonderful food, so we ate quite a lot. However Shanghai food is very, and I mean VERY, oily. We tasted some interesting new stuff, and when I say "interesting" I actually mean "awful" :D.
I hear your little voices shouting, what? what?
jellyfish in coriander.
jellyfish. in. coriander. Oo
So, I'm not sure where you live and what your food habits are, but let's just say than in general, Europeans are not too fond of coriander. It sort of tastes like harsh medicine.
And jellyfish? It's a bit like cartilage. So we knew what it was, we tasted, we swallowed and we laughed a lot :D
|The jellyfish is the green stuff in the left part. |
Technically the green stuff is the coriander, but that's the jellyfish dish.
The other must-see in Shanghai is walking on the Bund for the sightseeing.
The Bund itself isn't, at least for Europeans, that interesting. Basically it looks like Europe. Rather bleh when you travel 24hours to come to a totally different country to see something that is basically the same, but a bit less good that what you have in old cities of Europe.
But! the view on Pudong is pretty cool :)

It's the third time I go to Asia, so I've seen a lot of temples and I hadn't many on my list. On top of that, the day we wanted to visit those temples, we were both sick. So we managed to go to the Jing'an temple and, for my part, not cry and go as fast back as I could home. Yes I was very, very, sick that day.
The temple of Jing'an is hm. A bit weird. It's made out of concrete (I mean, what?) and the outer part is surrounded by shops (we actually went all around to find the entrance).
But once you're in it's nice, not much more than that I'm afraid. I've read the Bouddha temple of Jade was good, but, as I said, we were sick ^^'

We walked to the center of Oriental Art, we did not get in (we weren't allowed to, we probably should have come in the evening for that), but we walked around and it was hot and the light was bright and we were very happy to go in the air-conditioned metro after that :D
